Our featured artist for this second month of the new year is Ruth98 from Tokyo, Japan! Their artwork should be popping up in the scanners today so we asked them a few questions to get to know them and their artwork!

How long have you been playing?
About 5 years.
大体5年くらい。
What inspired you to submit your piece to the contest?
Ingress had the time when I did not play for a while, and broadcast of the animation began in those days. Animation was very interesting and I want to soak itself in the world of XM again, and came back.
And at that time, I heard the announcement of starting IFS art competition. I like drawing picture, so I thought I wanted to draw the world of XM by my own world view.

Is there anything about your artwork you want people to know?
Ingress is played all over the world. And so many people forming community which neither the race nor the type of job nor the age nor the gender matters there. Ingress is played all over the world. And so many people forming community which neither the race nor the type of job nor the age nor the gender matters there. I was surprised at the users who were in every domain. I wanted to express the feelings as the surprise “that was a species different in all the my teammates!”.
And I like animals, so I drew them as animal-like character.
Ingressは世界中で遊ばれていて、そこには人種も職種も年齢も性別も関係なく作られたコミュニティがあります。色んな人がいるんだ、というユーザー層の幅広さに驚かされた気持ちを、「チーム組む人みんな違う種族だった！」みたいな驚きとして表現したかったです。
あと、動物が好きなので動物っぽいキャラクターにしました。
Is there a website where people can see your artwork or other artwork you would like to show?
They have a pixiv where you can find their work!
Are there any details you would like to share about your craft?
I prefer digital art. But I like analog art too. I like pen drawing.
I use medibang paint and photoshop with digital art. Most of this pictures drew it using mediang paint, too.

今回の絵もほとんどmediang paintを使って描いています。

Anyway, I’ll make biocards. (I don’t have mine yet…)
とにかく、まだ持っていないのでバイオカードを作ろうと思っています。
