Pokémon GO is LIVE!!! (kind of)

Out of no where, Pokémon GO has finally released! Well… Kind of! This is what we know so far, though there has been no official word from Niantic, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company. The launch seems to be localized to Australia and New Zealand at the moment.

So far these download links have surfaced on Reddit:

iOS:

NZ: https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/Pokémon-go/id1094591345?mt=8

Field Testers invited too?

Reports are coming in that all Field Testers that had access to the app can download this release version, regardless of region. I was a Field Tester for the US and this version came as an update from the Play Store.

A few screen shots

If you’re using the internet right now, you’ll be seeing these and more flooding all social media outlets. We’ve included a few so you can get a taste of whats being shared.

Android N

There are reports that this release is not working on the Android N preview.

A word of caution!

Folks are reporting there are APK’s floating around that can access this release in ANY region. While it is tempting to seek these out and get on the action now, it probably isn’t worth it. Early access isn’t worth a potential ban.

What an exciting month this will be! Stay tuned as we’ll be updating our Pokédex, guide, as well as releasing our own helper app on Android. Train on!
