Pokémon GO McDonald’s Lure Event in Japan!

In celebration of Japans Golden Week , Niantic will be luring Japanese Trainers to McDonald’s’s Golden arches for a Pokémon GO McDonald’s Lure Event! Like with the Lapras and Snorlax events, Japan is receiving another region exclusive event. This is not a huge surprise since Pokémons roots are from Japan.

Starts: April 29th 2017 at 6:00.

Ends: May 7th 2017 at 24:00.

Around ~2,500 PokéStops at Japan McDonald’s locations will have Lure Modules activated from 6:00 to 24:00 during the event.

Since the first field test APK [0.13.5] released March 16, there has been an asset with the McDonald’s’s logo.

After the field test, Pokémon GO went live in Japan with APK [0.31.0] during July 16. With this launch the partnership with McDonald’s’s was announced publicly and ~2,900 McDonald’s’s stores were turned into PokéStops while ~400 were turned into Gyms.

According to Bloomberg, this partnership helped save McDonald’s’s from selling it’s stakes in Japan. Comparing their March sales between 2016 and 2017 showed an increase in profits by 17%. Shares for McDonald’s Japan have also rose 12% so far this year.
