Pokémon GO Valentine’s Day Event Details!
Similar to the Halloween and Holiday events seen last year, we’ll be seeing more candy, shorter walking distances for buddies, increased lure duration,and increased spawns of certain types. The event starts on February 8, 2017 @ 11:00 AM PST and ends on February 15, 2017 @ 11:00 A.M PST. With that lets dive into the details!
Double Candy
Every time you catch, hatch, or transfer a Pokémon, you’ll earn double the candy!
Earn Candy from Buddy Pokémon twice as fast
During the event, required distance to earn a candy from your buddy Pokémon has been divided by 2.
Example: It usually takes 5km to earn a candy from my Snorlax, but during the event it’ll only take 2.5km!
Increased Spawns of “Pink” Pokémon
We’ll be seeing increased spawns of “Pink” Pokémon during the event. Niantic has only named a few of these Pokémon so far and we’ll have a more definitive list once the event goes live.
Increased Hatch Rates
During the event we’ll be seeing increased hatch rates from eggs for the following Pokémon:
Increased Lure Duration
To date, this is the longest duration we’ve seen given to the Lure Module coming in at SIX HOURS vs the typical 30 minutes. This should be good for local community gatherings! Bring your cup of Pokémon GO Frappuccino to help survive these long visits.
