Yesterday, we shared a Google+ post from Tetsuya Aoyama linking several Japanese news sites stating 3 new medals as well as Intel Map functions were coming via a leak. Today, the three medals listed in the leak went live! Official Ingress announcement here.

This medal appears to be retroactive, and another “freebie” for those needing a easy Gold/Plat/Onyx medal.
Engineer
Deploy Mods to upgrade Portals.
A sad day for us long time players. This medal appears to be retroactive for only one month ago (early December according to Ingress), vs using your all time stats as a base. We saw this similarly with the Recharge medal. A new Mods Deployed stat was added under Building on the Agent profile for this.
SpecOps
Complete Unique Missions
Like Trekker, this medal appears to be retroactive.
But what about the leaked Intel Map updates?
