In the picture given, we can see astronauts and mission patches.
Astronauts : Christa McAuliffe, Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin, Alan Shepard, Sally Ride, Chris Hadfield, Kalpana Chawla, John Glenn, Vladimir Komarov, Buzz Aldrin
The patches numbers in the picture are wrong, here are the correct ones : STS-51-L, Apollo 11, Vostok-1, Freedom 7, STS-7, Expedition 35, STS-107, STS-95, Soyuz-1, Gemini 12
Using the difference between the real mission number and the wrong one gives us the position of a letter for each astronaut :
