Maestro and Scirocco represent Northwest and Southeast respectively, so the quest must begin in the upper left corner of the grid and end in the lower right corner.

The 8×8 grid and Knigths list is a hint to use chess knights moves.

Moving from top left to bottom down, in 2-1 or 1-2 chess knights moves will give you the answer.
